What I've found interesting about this week, well there are many things, but in particular B's attitude to it all. I've been a stay at home mum for nearly 10 months, during which time he has generally moaned at how tired he is, and gets the hump when he walks through the door and I hand the kids off to him so I can get a break!! He of course 'works' for a living!!
This week, however, he has had a change of heart and is really eager to be involved in our HE journey, and is trying to think of ways that he can be involved while he is at work, other than being our stationery 'acquirer'! He told me yesterday he'd seen something someone was about to chuck out at work and wondered if he could take it home for the kids to take apart to see how it worked!
He even offered to take the kids to a big park a bit away from us to give me a break...but errrm that never happened! Nevermind, it's the thought that counts!

Just to put the case for the defence....I do have issues with the acknowledgement that a 12 hour day at work is hard and just to come home to have the kids dumped on you and the comment "there you go, I've had them all day, your turn" isn't the best way to get em to help.
ReplyDeleteThat aside, I think the change that taking on HE has been astounding. Whilst its not a total "Damascus" event, the "happiness" in the family has exploded everywhere. I do not think Amanda has taken on an easy task and I have been pleasantly surprised by her continuing enthusiasm. Whilst I want to help as much as I can, the main bulk of the work will be by Amanda as I spend most of the time at work.
It also helps that we have fantastic friends who provide help, support and assurance when needed.
